Is anyone else suffering from liberal overload? For years I have made it my business to keep updated with currents events especially in the political arena. However, now I'm finding myself reconsidering the wisdom (to my sanity) of keeping up with the actions of our government.
Frankly, it has become depressing to watch our republic being dismantled piece by piece at such a rapid rate. I know conservatism isn't dead. But it sure as hell is dormant! And I feel that even should the GOP ever take back control of the Congress or White House they won't have the guts to roll back any of the changes being made.
I'd like to think a third party will come forward and save the day but history tells us this most likely won't happen.
So, anybody else have the same concerns? Ideas of how we can overcome these concerns?

I'm all for a third party. In fact there was a measure in Massachusetts (I think it lost the vote) to allow political parties to get "equal time" despite their popularity. (I'm doing a horrible job explaining it, but it basically would have given outside parties a fighting chance).
Our governor (Deval Patrick) seemed good on paper but during the televised debates, the Green and Independent party candidates were allowed to debate him even though they had zero chance of winning. Those candidates held his feet to the fire (they also did so with the Republican candidate). Many things were revealed that would not have been otherwise.
I watched the end of the debate when they were all saying their pleasantries, and Deval Patrick did not shake hands with the Green party candidate. I knew right then I would regret it if I voted for him.
Without a 60+ senate majority, nothing but executive orders can be reversed.
Before Abraham Lincoln (and small part by Andrew Jackson) the States had leverage of secession to hold back the hords in the Federal Government. States are too cowardly to do it now. Too dependant on Federal Spending; even though the money comes out of the States first.
